Most find it very unsettling to entertain the idea that choice is actually an illusion, or the illusion of choice, as stated in A Course in Miracles (ACIM). You make decisions every day, so the idea of choice not being real seems highly illogical and, to say the least, unlikely, given its

It is logical that you are in what you think is this world because you have made the decision, or choice, that this world is real. If you keep making that same choice, it will keep getting more and more real. ACIM clearly points out that ideas do not come from their source. Who would then be the source? What decisions are you really making?

Choice, Perception and Judgment:

You think this world is real because you made the choice to believe the ego's version of reality from the original separation. Those initial perceptions are followed by the next choice which is to judge the results, thus producing additional consequences that reinforce belief in this world. It is a vicious circle with no way out. As you perceive you will judge; and as you judge you will perceive. a course in miracles app The error is made real by means of this simple twisted deception. Take back your choice to believe the results and the mistake can be corrected.

Choice and source:

Wouldn't you then be the source since it is you who makes the decision to believe? You don't remember that original separation; however, they are making decisions now, and they are making decisions all the time. Every moment you are choosing between thoughts, feelings and ideas, etc. If it's not you, who do you want to claim as responsible? Be careful, because claiming someone else is responsible is actually blaming and you have no power to change as long as you think someone else is in charge. You are simply becoming a victim. Both are tricks of the ego.

Accepting responsibility for everything, including choices and their consequences, is the quickest way to change. This allows you to choose again because you can see the results and realize that you must have chosen by mistake. It is your thoughts and beliefs combined with the decision, or choice, to make them come true that becomes the effect of what you see in your world. The Law of Cause and Effect is very simple: According to the mind you choose, as the cause, you will see the corresponding effect.
