One of the main deities of the Trimurti (the trinity of supreme divinity) in Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu, has battled many enemies in a period of numerous ages (Yugas). Among Lord Vishnu's greatest enemies are the following:

8 Biggest Enemy of Lord Vishnu

Hiranyaksha

Context: According to the ancient scriptures, Hrianyaksha was a very powerful demon. He was so powerful that he stole the entire earth and hid himself in a cosmic sea. Hiranyaksha was also a great devotee of Lord Brahma. Pleased by his tapasya, Brahma Ji blessed him with a boon. It made him immune to humans and animals. Therefore, no human or animal could kill him. 

Defeat: Therefore, Bhagvan Vishnu takes his Varaha Avatar in order to destroy him. But in reality, he was none other than Jaya, who Bhagavan Vishnu had killed and cursed to be born again. Thus, after being defeated by Bhagavan Vishnu, he takes a new birth, forgets his past life, and begins harassing the gods once more. Let's move on to the second.

Hiranyakashyap

Context: The father of Prahlada, Hiranyakashipu, was a powerful demon king. Since Vishnu's Varaha avatar killed his brother Hiranyaksha, the reason for his enmity towards his younger brother is obscure.

Defeat: Under his Narasimha avatar (the Man-Lion form), Vishnu killed Hiranyakashipu.

Hayagriva

Context: There once was an asura with a horse's face. With great power, he desired to take the Vedas from Brahma Ji. In order to ask Durga Maa for a boon, he started doing tapasya. She asked his wish, pleased by his tapasya. He replied that only a person just like him could murder someone. He thus began to cause Devata's problems. The gods then hurried to Bhagavan Vishnu and requested his help.  

Defeat: Vishnu was informed by Maa Durga that only another Haigriva was capable of killing Haigriva. Thus, Vishnu took on Haigriva's form and started a battle with him. The demon's defeat brought the fight to an end.

Madhu and Kaitabha

Context: Two asuras named Madhu and Kaitabha were born from Bhagavan Vishnu's ear wax while he was in a deep state of meditation known as yoga nidra. The Vedas were taken from Brahma Ji by them. They then presented Mahadevi with a tapasya. She asked them for their wish, impressed by their tapasya. They asked Mahadevi to give them Ichchamrityu's blessing. It also means that they are limited to dying when they choose. They became practically immortal as a result. Thus, Brahma Ji awakened Lord Vishnu and talked about the conditions. 

Defeat: Then, Bhagavan Vishnu becomes involved in a fatal battle with Kaitabha and Madhu. Vishnu also informed them that he was pleased with their skills and that he was happy to shower any boon upon them. However, they were so self-serving that they claimed to be able to grant Bhagavan Vishnu a boon. Insouciantly, Vishnu Ji decided that this was a better idea and asked that they die. However, they were also clever. They therefore asked Vishnu to grant them a boon so they wouldn't die in water. After that, Bhagavan Vishnu struck his thighs together between them. No one can match his strength and intelligence, even though he is on the fifth.

Ravan

Context: One of Vishnu's most powerful and powerful rivals is Ravana. He possessed great strength and control over all nine planets, or navagrahas. Ravana knew all six Shastras and the Vedas, and he was a great devotee of Shiva. He continually peacefully defeated gods. Furthermore, Lord Vishnu's avatar Shree Ram defeated him. But, Ravana's immense power and prowess had made an impression on all of us. He was wise, intelligent, and strong. However, Vibhishan, his younger brother, betrayed him, which is why he died. 

Defeat: Rama was informed by Vibhishan that Ravana had hidden Amrit in his belly. Thus, Shree Ram used a bow to attack his navel, and in the end, he died. However, Shree Ram was aware of his immense knowledge. He sent Lakshman Ji to learn from him as a result. An avatar of Lord Vishnu's uncle is our sixth dangerous enemy.

Kansa

Context: During the Dwapar Yuga, Bhagavan Vishnu faced powerful rivals from Kansa. Devaki was his sister, and he was a cruel king. Thus, a spirit once forecast that his sister's eighth son would be the cause of his death. He was therefore afraid of this proficiency. He then kept Devaki and his spouse incarcerated. He murdered seven of Devaki's sons in a row. 

Defeat: But Krishna, his eighth son, was taken away by Vasudev, and a goddess replaced him. As soon as Kansa realised Devaki had given birth to a daughter, he also killed her. Later on, the goddess showed up to warn him that her prediction would come to pass because Devaki's last son was safe. Finally, Krishna puts an end to Kansa's cruelty by killing him in public. Shishupal

Context:  Shishupal was an enemy of Lord Vishnu despite not being an Asura. He is basically the cousin of Shree Krishna. Shishupal had four arms and three eyes at birth. His parents made the decision to remove him from the home. But they were stopped by a voice from heaven. It said that when a particular someone took him in their lap, his extra eyes and arms would vanish, and that same person would also kill him. Krishna was the one to take him in his lap after this, and then all of his extra organs vanished out of nowhere. But there was an error in these predictions. 

Defeat: When his mother realised this, she asked Krishna to make a promise that he would pardon her son's hundred mistakes. In the end, Shishupal used his hundred sins during the coronation ceremony of the Mahabharata, and Krishna used his Sudarshan Chakra to cut him off. In addition, because he is from the future, the final one is highly special.

Kali Purush

Context: Kali is an upcoming threat. He stands for the negative thoughts that exist in human minds. Adarma, jealousy, darkness, and pure evil are all expressed by Kali. He will make a showing in the Ghor Kalyug, and darkness will rule throughout the world at that time. The rate of crime and adharma will rise. People's minds will be taken over by Kali, who will use them against Bhagavan Vishnu's Kalki avatar. He is also incredibly intelligent and strong. He can easily control anyone and has no physical form. He is also capable of passing for a human. 

Defeat: As a result, killing such a being will be difficult. However, the Kalki avatar and the seven Chiranjivi will battle and defeat him in keeping with numerous scriptures and forecasts. Following that, Kalki will head out a Yajna to restore the world to its original state. Thus, we may deduce that Lord Vishnu's greatest rival is Kali Purusha.
